From September 2025 for children who qualify as it is for working families from the term after your child is 9 months old you can be entitled to either 24 hours all year round or 30 hours term time only.
Meynell Kindergarten is open Monday – Friday 8am to 6pm. We offer a variety of childcare options and the costs for these are shown above.
Additional time added on to the above options is charged hourly at a rate of £6.50 per hour. Any portion of an hour used will be charged at the full hourly rate. Hot meals from the term after your child is 3 years old are charged at 2.50 per day.
Government (EYE) funding
We do offer 2 year old funding for children who meet the criteria the term after they are 2 where they can either have 15 hours term time only or 12 hours stretched for 50 weeks of the year. If you go on children’s choice website they will tell you how to apply.
All children are entitled to 15 hours free per week for 38 weeks from the term after they have celebrated their 3rd birthday or they can use the stretched offer of 12 hours per week for 50 weeks of the year. We do offer the 30 /24 hours if you meet the criteria. If your child has taken their full entitlement any additional hours will be charged at £5.50 per hour and if they want a hot dinner it will be charged at 2.00.
Security & Safety
You will be required to sign your child in and out of Kindergarten and inform Staff if someone other than yourself is collecting your child. We also operate a password system to ensure persons unknown to staff can safely collect your child in emergencies.
