We intend to create an environment in which children are safe and secure and we are committed to following safeguarding procedures in line with the ‘Local Safeguarding Children’s Board’ guidelines.
Meynell Kindergarten and all staff, volunteers and students are fully committed to valuing diversity by providing equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice for all children and families, irrespective of race, gender, family culture and background, language or special needs.
Children who become ill at Kindergarten are cared for until their parents/carers can be contacted. It is important that we have a telephone number at which they can be reached. In addition, we require a further telephone number of someone who can take responsibility for the child if the parents are unavailable.
Staff are able to administer medication with a signed consent form. Antibiotics will not be administered in the first 48 hours.
If minor accidents occur, we will administer simple first aid and make a written record that will be discussed with parents at the end of the session. All members of staff hold a first aid qualification.
Please notify the Kindergarten if your child has been in contact with any infectious diseases or has any allergies.
